GRASSROOTS:
Winning partnership builds playing fields for Chicago’s kids
Formed to meet the needs of youth athletic programs by providing funding for urban sports facilities, the NFL Grassroots Program—a partnership between the NFL, the NFL Players Association and LISC—has helped five Chicago-based
organizations to refurbish their playing fields.

Throughout the summer, the NFL Grassroots Program and the Chicago Bears, with matching funds from the Chicago Public Schools and its partners renovated Lane Tech’s 65 year old stadium.

The first ever night game with Permanent lights installed took place on August 25, 2006. Many Lane Tech students were able to enjoy the beautiful weather under the glow of lights on a warm summer evening. Thanks to your efforts to raise funds for these deserving students, the future looks just as bright as the new lights. 

The condition of the practice fields before any work is documented below. Please continue helping  with our efforts in building the Fields of Dreams for Lane Tech and the North Side community.
